6-Day Northern Tanzania Safari Itinerary (Including Materuni)
This 6-day safari combines cultural experiences, scenic landscapes, and world-class wildlife viewing across northern Tanzania. The journey begins with a relaxing cultural introduction at Materuni Village on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, followed by a refreshing visit to Chemka Hot Springs.
From there, the adventure continues into Tanzania’s most iconic safari destinations including Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Each day offers unique wildlife encounters, breathtaking scenery, and immersive safari experiences guided by professional experts.
Introduction
Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari guide and transferred to Materuni Village, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a guided walk through lush coffee plantations and local Chagga villages before hiking to the beautiful Materuni Waterfalls.
Experience a traditional coffee tour where you will learn how coffee is locally processed from bean to cup while enjoying cultural songs and dances. After lunch in the village, continue to Chemka Hot Springs, a hidden paradise with crystal-clear warm waters ideal for swimming and relaxation.
In the evening, return to your lodge in Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive with chances to see lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species.
A picnic lunch will be served inside the park. In the afternoon, continue game viewing before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, journey through the scenic Ngorongoro highlands toward Serengeti National Park. Enjoy wildlife sightings along the way before entering the endless plains of Serengeti.
Continue with an afternoon game drive in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations, home to predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Serengeti.
Spend a full day exploring Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush surrounded by wildlife and vast savannah landscapes. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti before departing toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

After early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater hosts a dense concentration of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, hippos, and the rare black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending the crater and driving back to Arusha, marking the end of your safari adventure.
